Late November

It was a heart-rending rainy day in late November
I remember it well
It was the day you left forever

Time seemed to standstill, as tears started to swell

'Why did you leave?'
I ask myself that

My heart wanted to stand there and grieve

And tears fell as if they were struggling in combat

I'll never be immune
I wanted to tell you good-bye

Your life made your memories come so soon

I know if I say it I'll get no reply

But I will treasure those memories and say 'so long'

But I know you're in a better place

Where nothing can go wrong

And soon someday I will be able to see your face
