Surviving the Day: Battle of the Bulge
I sit alone freezing in my foxhole
As I struggle once again to survive
Although I do find it impossible
When we are surrounded and left deprived
Once again here comes the artillery
It shrieks in loud and explodes in the trees
And is followed by deadly infantry
Bullets buzzing like swarms of angry bees
I took aim and fired my last bullet
It struck the German in the artery
I felt bad but knew I had to do it
For he certainly would have killed me
Again I survived another day
And until tomorrow I will pray
