Panic

I feel it racing

Can you hear it running through my veins?

Like a river changing
Escaping

Adrenaline

Fills my heart
Beating

Beating
Down on my conscious

Anger

Screams inside my head
Wanting to erupt
Exploding in my eyes

They stare
They listen

They don’t understand.

Calm down

Easing
My

Temper
Let it all free
Comfortably.

Breathe in

Breathe it all out
Hold in my words

Thoughts racing
Like a blackboard

Filled with chalk.

My hair standing on end
Droops

Like a sad flower
My mind is finally clear.

They stare
They listen

No,
They still don’t understand.

This poem describes the way I feel around mass crowds of people. Sometimes I get sprouts of panic attacks that make me dizzy and uncontrolled in a busy area.
