Our Eternal Flame
His place was beside me; why did he leave?
I miss his presence and comfort amid
My joy has been buried I solely grieve
Like birds without song I have grown rigid
His eyes peered within, his words touched my heart
Our love had sparked a fire so passionate
Now but two diff’rent worlds hold us apart
And the cry of the stray I emulate
Oh how much I wish my timer would halt
To join him in the eternal divine
So I’d ‘scape from this world laden with fault
And our lives at long last would intertwine
The sole love in my life I’ve been stripped of
Like his last breath shed, I’ll join him above
