Two Outs; Bottom of the Ninth
The pitch came speeding to the plate,
The batter looked at the ball with hate.
He wanted to swing but it was too late.
“Strike One.”
Another pitch was curving to the right,
The batter looked at the ball with spite,
And he swung his bat with all his might.
The bat connected with a howl,
But the ball went spinning foul
And the batter was about to throw in the towel.
“Strike Two.”
The final pitch came in very fast,
So the batter didn’t think he would last.
When he swung the pitcher was aghast,
For now the pitcher new he was done.
The batter had hit a walk off homerun,
And the home team had won.
