Johnny and Goliath

Christmas Eve
Little Johnny had a wish
He asked his father for love
But he turned away
He asked for acceptance
But father dearest couldn’t be swayed
Ice cold papa felt betrayed
Made sure Johnny wouldn’t see Christmas day
A flame raged from his father’s mouth
To give Johnny his wish, his father couldn’t conceive
That all Johnny wanted was a sewing machine

The author's comments:
this poem was written about a boy who at a young age realizes that he is homosexual, his father, being a straight and narrow kind of guy goes berserk, poor little johnny only wanted his father's love, instead he got his father's gun.
