Waiting
I’ve been waiting by the city fog
For far too long
With sleepless nights of empty dreams
And I’ve been waiting by the faded swings
For far too long
By thunderous cries of ebony means
And somewhere on coastlines
Unknown to me
You paint daffodils of gold and green
You sing the melody that once used to be
The tune that caught me in sweet reverie
And somewhere on coastlines
Unknown to me
Your eyes whisper to her laughing plea's
On endless boundaries of a secret sea
With coconuts and tea from breezy palm trees
My eyes flood droplets of your old debris
You dance in sepia photographs that say to me
That somewhere on coastlines
Unknown to me
You love her French fragrance of lavished lilies
You’re in a trance with someone--
Someone not me
Your promises shatter ever so lifelessly
And memories of me float too distant to see
While you paint daffodils of gold and green
You sing the melody that once used to be
The tune that caught me in sweet reverie
And I wait by the city fog
With sleepless nights of empty dreams
