Flag Night

The boom and the wows
The fireworks rumble
The flag sways softly
And it does not crumble

The colors in the air
All through the night
The stars twinkle softly
They stand alone bright

The wars that they travel
Their bare feet in gravel
They get stronger and stronger
And then they are there longer

We pray for him
And we pray for her
And when we look back on them
Some things in our mind occur

A twinkle of a star
A trigger held tight
These are the things we think about
On flag night.

This is an excellent poem for the 4th of July. Nicely done, Sierra.
