Over the Fence
I’ve always wondered
What was over the fence
The fence where
The flies like to stay
Where they like to sleep
At the end of the day
The fence where
The rain likes to fall
Then dries up to nothing
Nothing at all
The fence where
The spiders make their webs
Then people come over
And squish their little heads
But what could be over
That beautiful fence
Could it be jewels
Could it be money
Could it be the ears
Of a cute little bunny
Could it be games
Could it be fun
Could it be shadows
Left by the bright yellow sun
I unlock the latch
And I open the door
And what do I see
I see flowers galore
Daffodils, Daisies, and Marigolds
Sunflowers, Lilies, and a big, bright, red rose
The leaves splattering on the trees
Bright colors, as colorful as can be
How many times
Do you get to see
What is behind
The big oak tree
But I like it better
Where I come from
Under the tree
With the rain and the sun
Now I conclude
After seeing the flowers
Thinking and thinking
Gave me the power
To see what was over the fence

I wrote this because there are some things in life that people might miss and there's always another way to look at something. Sometimes it's better to just be yourself, you don't have to do something new or make a change.
