The lonely songbirds danced in my head.
Their singing echoed the voices of the undead.
As I walked onto the sandy lawn
I felt the chill of the coming dawn.

At daybreak, the wind scared me.
The great waves flared at me.
I stepped into the water
To feel the liquid grow hotter.

I plunged into the great abyss
The steamy water; foggy mist
Enthralled me to swim farther,
But then, suddenly, I rose from the water.

This piece is about the first time someone entered the water at this beach, but something horrible made them get out. What made the person get out, we will never know.
