I don't know why
I write in this diary
No faith in the world
Nothing at all
And seeing no light
Near the unmarked grave
As my blood runs
Into the dust
Onto the paper
Like ink on dried walls
Where my love has gone
Away from hope
Away from the sun
Because I know
You'll return again
My heart in hand
Unbroken, unstitched
Like the day
I handed it to you
Sure enough
I will never break
In your arms.
