A cold lake of dark and light,

Water that is cool and cleansing,

We are in life, a Black Lotus

Symbol of man and nature

Bonded together in love and in hate

Floating atop life's dark waters

We exist as men, paradox's all

Diverse in strength and durability

Inside us all is the power of a lotus

A symbol of Hope, Unity, and Peace

In nature it cannot be artificially grown

But greed and lust of man's harvest riches

Have brought it almost to dark extinction

To all who are lost, I found who I was in nature.

A black lotus in calm lake of turquoise blue.

The author's comments:
This is pretty much something I found in a dream. The lotus flower is one of the rarest and longest living flowers in the world. It seemed like a good symbolism of life. They are so pretty but so dark.
