Dreaming In the Backyard
With a dazzling smile and welcoming gifts,
I know she is there for me.
As I lie there on her green bed,
I can hear the sweet music playing through the air.
I can feel her as she speaks to me,
The warmth of her breath on my face.
She wraps me in a blanket of light and warmth.
And as I smell the freshness of the air,
I notice she has grown sad.
Her once gleaming face has now darkened.
But it is still as beautiful as before,
For now here eyes are twinkling with stars.
I tell her goodbye and she understands,
Because tomorrow will be a brand new day,
Full of surprises.
