Come Back to Me
When we were young and very close,
You never left me not even once.
We played hide and seek and build homes from boxes:
We laughed and sang and danced around.
But now you're older, not as fun
Come back to me my true best friend.
You've gone on, you're far away.
At least that's how it feels to me.
We prayed together, played together,
Ran in the rain together.
We jump and skipped and ran and slid'
But now you're older, not as fun
Come back to me my true best friend.
You've gone on, you're far away.
At least that's how it feels to me.
As we got older, we chose to do,
Things like matching our clothes for days on end.
We had fun together; we got in trouble together,
But in the end we always were friends.
But now you're older, not as fun
Come back to me my true best friend.
You've gone on, you're far away.
At least that's how it feels to me.
Now you're in high school, away from me.
Friends occupy your mind; homework fills your hours.
I'll still be waiting for you when you come back:
Don't forget I still love you, my life long friend.
