Notions of Time
I'm lying on the bed,
eyes closed, heart still,
waiting for the notions of time
to overwhelm me.
the moments pass,
each tick of the second hand goes by like a small stab wound.
The smell of nostalgia is strong here,
where it all ended
and began.
I'm lying on the floor now,
eyes open, heart full
of memories long since passsed,
slopping over the sides like
cold, melted butter.
The clock has stopped ticking,
or maybe I just can't hear it
anymore because of the silent screams of
Time we've lost
Forever.
