We loved in the moonlight and it was the colour of your eyes.
Meeting you that day; it was the shade of my coat.
Swirling in my cup; it was the colour of my coffee.
Feet in the grass; it was the tone of the dirt.
Cold in the winter; it had the colour of the flood.
Returning to emptiness; it was the hue of my dead roses.
Taxi late at night; it was the tint of the surface.
Leaving you forever; it was the shade of the envelope I left you, the morning you came home.
