Let's play pianoless chords and rhymeless rhymes;
Invisible metronome keeps the time.
Soundless singers know the lineless lines,
Music so nice, it drifts along so fine.

Our sweet symphony can't be beat; tunes meet,
Mingle like coffee hits the heavy cream.
Serenaded audience taps their feet.
Let's not remember that it's just a dream.

Many will dream of sparkling diamonds, see.
Silver and gold, all some fantasy.
I just long for a gorgeous music piece,
a tune that tells the tale of you and me.

So for tonight, I think I'll stay and dream.
I think I'll play the song again'for me.

I was inspired to write this after learning about sonnets; this is an attempt at the Shakespearean style. An acoustic music station started this idea and it just kept rolling. It's about love and music--take it in any direction you choose, romantic or not.
