Ten perfect toes,
Two little blue eyes,
Looking up at me,
Nine pounds two ounces
Of a pure miracle:
Jasmine Elizabeth
You were never truly real
Not till now.
I'll promise to care for you,
Spoil you like an Aunt does,
Tiny fingers
Wound around my one,
Tiny toes,
Curling as I talk.
Will you know this is for you?
I want to hold you close
Keep the chill away
From your small form
Why ice on such a great day?
Who'd have thought
That something so great
Could be so small?
