I didn't know it would come to this,

You hit me like a ton of bricks.

I never thought we'd meet,

And then one day you started to speak.

I remember you making me grin,

And that's when my world began to spin.

Time was against us along with Fate,

But it felt as if Destiny had delivered you on a silver plate.

My walls were built high,

So far they could transcend the sky.

My heart within,

Numb to the Fin.

And as I started to feel alive,

It was time to say goodbye.

I accepted the truth,

And tried to stay aloof.

My heart battling my brain,

As if this were a game.

I finally said check mate,

And left the idea of us in its state.

Have ever met someone that was perfect in ever aspect for you and you knew that you could easily spend the rest of your life with this person? Have you evre met this person at the wrong time in your life? I have. But, I met this perfect person at the wrong time. His life took him away from me and mine took me away from him. He persued a different career path than I, therefore he went away for school while I stayed for school. The moment I realized this was happening to us I wrote this poem to release all of my frustration and heartbreak on the inside out.
