A friend is the gift of a warm summer's night
Running through fireflies, drown in their light
My shady tree in the desert of life
When hope is lost and won by strife
A friend is the fencepost to lean upon
When I'm unsure what lies beyond.

A friend is the way that light meets my eyes
O'er dew sprinkled grass, watching sun rise
The anchor of my ship, which holds me in place
Never giving way, only offering grace
A friend is the tightest knot, never failing,
Tested by trials, truth ever entailing

A friend is walking barefoot in the twilight of the morning
The surf, waves, sand with bright seashells adorning
The sensation of a whisper, playing softly on the wind
Not caring of my past, what I've done, where I've been
A friend is divine treasure beyond compare,
Gleaming with love, compassion, and care'

A friend is everything in the world to me,

I know that you're there and you always will be.

I wrote this poem about a few of the amazing friends that I've been blessed with in my life. They help me through anything and everything including the recent hard times in my life. Thanks to my best friends, I'm pulling though.
