Dawn
Through world weary eyes I view this place
With a stormy sky painted gray
I wish I could paint a colored sky
To chase the shadows in my heart away
The wind whips through me, the winter's grasp upon me
How I long for summer, with it's care free days
At night I do not sleep
I fail before I try
This sunset I see, how I long for sunrise
I pray for a beginning and find the end
The night is darkest before the dawn
So they say
So I watch with world weary eyes for the dawn
To chase the shadows away
