Your Face Next To Mine
Fall 2008. We fit together like matching puzzle pieces.
My arm gently over you and your arm under me. You
wear the black t-shirt I got you from my trip. We both wear dark sunglasses trying to avoid the sun or maybe to avoid each other's glances.
It was the fall after everything had happened, all the drama, all the pain, all the tears. It was our fresh start. I smile my sometimes over the top smile, while you struggle with a simple cheese. We try to put the past behind us like the soccer game in the background.
The different shades of browns and whites bring a type of feel to the picture. I look back and still remember that day as if it were so long ago. The picture and our hearts may not have been in color then but now we glow from true happines.
