What is good enough?
Is it all just a bluff?
A bluff to hide what's underneath.
A bluff to hide what's meant to be.

They say to go anywhere you have to be good enough,
but doesn't it seem like a little much?
Shouldn't we just be ourselves,
and not what others choose to sell?

To me good enough is being who you are,
and never going out too far.
Never too far from all your dreams.
Never too far from all your seams.

So the truth of what good enough is,
is never going down in life's abyss.
From there you'll only be brought down.
From there you might never be found.

Found to be who you want to be.
At some point I hope you will see.
See what life's done for you.
See what life can make you do.

The author's comments:
I am in a this school program, gifted, i guess you could call it. I joined because all my friends were. I do not regret joining but this year ive had two teachers say to my face i wasnt good enough to be in it. It hurt me deeply, but i still enjoy the program just not as fully. I want readers to know that grades arent everything. I mean thay help out alot but what really matters is your will and your ability to be yourself and stand up for your self.

Please continue to express your thoughts and revelations through writing. Being a poet myself, I have found that too often I am far too sensitive to the "wrongs" in society, but am able to channel my frustrations through putting the inconsistencies in the world into a poem. As poets, we actually take the time to think about things and don't just go through the motions of living or as some do, just merely existing. The voice you give in poetry can make a difference in someone's life.

This is fantastic, Aus - and I'm glad you remember what's important, regardless of what anyone else thinks. That takes courage. Good work, buddy!
