I dream of saying hello to you, though eventually I will say goodbye -
Death will surely not defy you, but to me you will never die.
I love you, and you know it, too -
though through the years it seemed untrue.
I don't remember what love is though I feel it in my heart -
After all of these years, centuries that we have been apart.
You are gone, love, though I see you every day -
I search for you, see, in every single way.
Your death defies not death today. It defies something more -
But love don't be defied. You are here forevermore.

The author's comments:
I love this poem because it is beautiful and innocent. These feelings are very real and the poem is named for the person who inspired them.
