Nostalgia

Nostalgic tendencies drive the individual to times they can barely
remember.
Unrecognizable voices,
morphed for years you can't recall
become bedtime sonnets.
A soft spoken dissipation,
your mouth uttered silence
and now
I can't look in the mirror
without recognizing ancestors left speechless.

This is a short piece I wrote after thiking about stories that are passed down though generations. I personally love hearing my parent's stories of their childhood and can't help but wonder about the stories I'll pass on to my children.
