the man inside my closet

a man lives in my closet
he watches me undress
and if I turn the lights on
he tends to get upset

he wears big black boots
and has a few tattoos
he told me I would love him
and I would not refuse

there is a woman in my mirror
and I can see her brain
she does not say much
but she seems to be in pain

a man lives in my closet
he’s been there for a while
ever since I turned fifteen
and the woman lost her smile

a man lives in my closet
last night he broke my mirror
I wonder where that woman will go now
the man is coming nearer

a man lives in my closet
his breathing is quite loud
I wonder if my friends believe
that I’m just not allowed

a man lives in my closet
he took away my music
he will not let me go to school
I fear this is abusive

a man lives in my closet
he came out of my brain
but I am not making this up
he really loves cocaine

a man lives in my closet
what happened now is clear
he killed the woman in my mirror
out of jealousy and fear

a man lives in my closet
he tells me I am nothing
but he promised he would make me feel
like I am not disgusting

a man lives in my closet
the white in his eyes has gone
and now only black can be seen
this all feels very wrong

a man lives in my closet
I tried to call for help
but he told me that I liked it here
and not to ever yelp

a man lives in my closet
his story’s getting graphic
I think I tell it very well
and yes it was this tragic

a man lives in my closet
now police are asking questions
yesterday they knocked on my door
but I gave a good impression

a man lives in my closet
it’s clear he has an obsession
my mind is decomposing
this is more than depression

a man lives in my closet
he taught me how to lie
he told me the world hated me
and I had to say goodbye

a man lives in my closet
well would you like to meet him
just do not tell him what to do
or he’ll make you take a swim

a man lives in my closet
I’m sure he knows your name
I’m sure he knows your biggest fears
and your secrets all the same

a man lives in my closet
and if that tends to scare you
you would never believe
that man is who you’re talking to
and this story’s from his point of view

This poem is quite dark and depressing I know... but I think it's an interesting and scary thing for people to read.
