Bones

Do you know where the essence of your body lies?
no, it’s not in your brain
your lungs
your liver
or even your heart.
it's in your
bones

you'd think of bones
morbid and horrid
of dreary death,
of skull and crossbones, and murder but
bones
aren't just that.
there is life in your bones.

from the very beginning, from when you're
a bouncing baby to when you're six feet under,
bones
are the framework of your existence,
holding you together,
fighting every urge to
just
fall
apart, but no
bones
are much strong than that.

you take bruises, cuts, and burns, and
you know your skin, your flesh will heal,
covering up thoughtless accidents and bouts of violence.

you give out hugs, kisses, and your love, and
you know your body, in time, will erase all indiscretions, but
bones
they know
they feel
they feel...everything
a mother's kiss
a father's strike
both love and hatred.

the muscles and mind may forget, but
bones,
they always remember.

as the mind deteriorates,
the body breaks down, and
evidence of a life once-lived dissolves
only
bones
are left.

wow. this is truly... it's something. i don't have the words for it.

it whispers life, and you have some fantastic ideas here. you take something that most people wouldn't see, and you make it believable.

fantastic.
