A stab in the back; a hole in the heart,
And a person who is changing my life;
An event that led to my brand new start,
Difficulties that cut like a sharp knife;
Times of pain and tears that had to follow,
Lessons too harsh for my kind of knowledge;
Running away from a life so shallow,
Falling behind and had to acknowledge;
Feeling lonely; not knowing where to turn,
Standing right up at the end of this hole;
Hoping for life to decide to return,
Trying to be just one; as of a whole;
Yet, at the end there is that light that’ll shine,
There’s no time to give up, I will not whine.
