Where My Heart Lies

January 22, 2009
By Caroline Webster, Potomac, MD

Over the vast undulating dunes
Against the soft white grains,

This is where my heart lies

Enveloped beneath the crest of a wave,
Below the deep salty waters,

This is where my heart lies

Through the sea of umbrellas,
Beside the smooth picturesque shore,

This is where my heart lies

Beneath the earth the sun does sink
But my heart must stay afloat

Until the sun does rise again
Until the sun does rise again

The author's comments:
At the end when it says, "Until the sun does rise agian" it means that 1. I can go the the beach again in the morning, but 2. It means that times will always get better.
