We Ran
The night stood still, the moon shone bright
It was Picasso's "Starry Night".
The sun was gone and so were we,
The day has passed - it's history.
The love was gone and we were done with hate
What was left? - destiny, hope, regret, and fate.
What to do? - we did not know
Where to leave? Where to go?
So on we ran, past homes and prisons,
Past what is and past what isn't,
Past what could've been and past what was,
Past perfection, past faults and flaws,
On we ran, and what did we find?
We found ourselves, my heart, your mind.
