Love is funny, isn’t it?
When you find it:

The world is at your feet
And heaven above your head.
One jump to heaven
One squat to the world.
Everything’s a blur
And that boy is in focus
The sky seems endless
And the horizon so close.
Fingertips tracing intimacy
And footsteps stop to desire
A craving of warmth, lust, and attachment
A scene to always replay.

Love is funny, isn’t it?
When you lose it:

A scene to fast-forward,
A state filled of cold, hate, and detachment.
Footsteps sprinting to rediscover the lost
Fingertips abrade a chalkboard of impulse
Horizon gone astray,
The sky so neglected.
The boy an obscure smudge,
Where everything is well-defined.
One jump to the world,
One squat to hell
The world above your head
Hell under your feet.

Love is funny, isn’t it?

The author's comments:
Love, hate, childhood, adulthood... life is funny. Where to decide when the humor turns cruel is all about the adventures life spins at us. You choose when you can't take it anymore.
