Eyes of frozen alabaster
that bear a heavy sheet,
the arms that grow long and slender,
throw on the furtive sleet.

A chill, a breeze that chills your bones
blows through the cloudless air,
let this storm rage through the country,
and let down its frozen hair.

The sky and earth,
now caught in glance
are captive to this wraith,
The water, quick, now forms its stance
and traps all life beneath.

The eagle of pearlescent bliss,
now watches from high above
See now as it soars from this
and makes it’s frosty perch.
