Ribbons
Black ribbons tied to bars
Frayed edges rustled by the screeching wind
You with your emerald eyes
The words behind them
Make me cry
Broken shards of mirrored words
Fall to the cold tile floor
Spider leg lashes and icy scars
Entangled in this wood of lies
Blank stares with masks tied tight
Don't fall and break again
Remember love
When you leave take your stardust
Pretty eyes hold so many lies
Tick tock tick tock
Flying time falling apart
Time goes fast
I move slow
Locked here again
Something screaming in my bones
Breathe in, breathe out
Blood pumps through
Living, not alive
Awake, not unafraid
Locked in this dance
Caught in this song
Hit the repeat button
I'll break once more
Black ribbons tied so tight
Cannot soar
Never to fly
Ribbons frayed
And torn
Ribbons tear
once more
