Hear This Cry

Turn my mic up louder I got to say somethin’
Something people know about and yet say nothin’
So as I rhyme sit back and listen to this song
This is to all the families who lost a daughter or son
This is to people who lost someone close to them
This is to people who lost a true friend
This is to people who wished it would all end
This middle finger is to the people who caused the mayhem
I’ma spit this even though its way out of my league
To talk about this stuff called beef
I ain’t trying to make peace, just wanna raise awareness
To the public that’s scared of this
To the public that aren’t prepared for this
This is something I just wanna get off my chest
Cause pretty soon someone close, is gonna face death
Only if this beef stuff never takes a rest

Can anybody hear this cry for help?
It’s like a rain drop in a storm
Quickly falling without any meaning
Dropping on the lives that are now torn
Catch those drops that cry for help, for there is a fight we need to win
Put them together we will need them to wash away our sins

I remember the days when beef used to be dumb
When you just had a one on one fight with someone
And it will all be done
Now a days beef is more severe
When you diss someone, your own people start to disappear
It’s like war on the streets
Till someone declares defeat
And it’s messed up when you feel your friends last heart beat
Man, this stuff ain’t cool
I wonder if these people know that there’s more to life than just high school
It’s devastating, especially 1.28
When we lost someone special to the hands of fate
I didn’t want to talk about it
I just thought I should mention it
And its hard to say
When one of my friends told me one mom woke up without a son on mother’s day
That stuff struck me like lightning, so I went home and prayed
That beef would pass away
So we don’t have to see another young one pass away

Can anybody hear this cry for help?
It’s like a rain drop in a storm
Quickly falling without any meaning
Dropping on the lives that are now torn
Catch those drops that cry for help, for there is a fight we need to win
Put them together we will need them to wash away our sins

But today I see the people that tried to stop the violence and you can plainly see
Are the ones that causing it to happen more and more frequently
And if you know how it feels when your knee deep into beef
That your own mom ain’t safe up in the streets
Because your enemies are getting wilder and all they wanna see is violence
What can we do to get it to be silenced?
Don’t tell me your gonna wait till someone dies
Dry your eyes
And walk with me
We’ll march through these streets
Demanding every right and opportunity
Stop it before it comes to your house
Speak loudly; don’t be quiet as a mouse
No more cryin’
Be strong, you’re a lion
Danger stops life and all the fun
BOOM! Like the sound of a gun
I got more to say but I gotta run
Stop the violence my friends lets hope it would be all done
Because when the sun comes up tomorrow
Let’s hope there’s no sorrow
And even though the different changes of weather begins
Let’s hope that we’ll all be there together when it ends

Can anybody hear this cry for help?
It’s like a rain drop in a storm
Quickly falling without any meaning
Dropping on the lives that are now torn
Catch those drops that cry for help, for there is a fight we need to win
Put them together we will need them to wash away our sins
