Never Castaway

We met in the month of May,
And became friends the very next day.
With you in my life my heart would say,
Never let this friend of yours walk away.
He was a shady character but I still didn’t sway,
Because of each us is different in our own way.
Nevertheless, I never imagined you would go astray,
We got separated without a single fray.
You left me torn and tearful without a word to say.
You meant a lot to me still I tried to forget you in every way,
But you had a place in my heart forever to stay.
You are my friend from the past whom I will never castaway.
