I sit here and wonder
How many have sat before me
In the same place
At a different time
The walls hold their secrets
And silently whisper
Names I’ve never heard before
And a few I may have
The floor bared their burden
As it now bares mine
Held on to their purposes
Or like me, no purpose at all
And I sit here and wonder
Where they are now
How long it has been
And if they ever wondered the same
