Emerald Portals
My eyes are portals
They see the world as my mind tells
With an outer circle of brown and gray
Green emeralds are hidden within
My eyes see into different worlds
Room to room, night to day
My emotions ever-changing my view
My eyes tell stories
From my youth, for my future
Keeping every teardrop as a memory
My eyes are naive
That grow and learn with what they see
Despite their age they see the world
Through worn and tired irises
