I set for the sun with wonder in my eyes
Sticky sweet resin on my fingers
Ears buzzing faintly with your voice
I deciphered all the hidden meanings that morning.
The sky was alive with orange and pink
Thick purple scars
I walked for miles before the chill caught up to me
Shoe laces collect dirt and dew in the tall, early summer grass
I can’t keep up with the scenery this time
