Should’ve Said Something
The unspoken truth wisps past ears.
The elephant in the room only triples in size.
Yet no one admits it’s stepping on their feet,
Pushing them closer to the walls.
Breathing room becomes scarce.
But instead their eyes water with tears
And press tongues to the back of their teeth,
Withholding words that they wish to speak.
Times lapses from minutes to hours.
It’s too late, all the passive people were left to suffocate.
