Advice for a Victim... of Words
I know I said
the things I said
but that doesn't mean
I don't love you.
I might shout it out
or hold it within
but someday it will
bubble over.
So bear with me please
as I stew and I stew
and finally
explode.
The words that spew out
will cut and they'll slash
but hopefully not
that deep.
The best thing to do
is shut out those words,
cover your ears
and survive.
And all I have to say is
"I'm sorry."
And I hope that is
enough.
