It’s not easy saying it was a gentle year,
now a distant thought, far from sight.
Come along dear, there’s nothing to fear.

Murky waters replaced ones once clear.
much darker than the darkest night,
It’s not easy saying it was a gentle year.

We were together, spinning on this sphere,
thinking of how ideas could come take flight.
Come along dear, there's nothing to fear.

Hiding in secret, but not to disappear,
doing so was easier than putting up a fight
It’s not easy saying it was a gentle year.

Seen dancing under the chandelier,
basking in the faint yellow light.
Come along dear, there’s nothing to fear.

It’s simpler to keep sorrow near,
kept chained and locked up tight.
It’s not easy saying it was a gentle year
Come along dear, there's nothing to fear.
