Unspeakable horror and unwholly described tragedy
Pain pronounced in every pair of eyes
Attempting to hold upon the last bit of composure
To contradict your frightened child's cries

Such vulnerability as never before accumulates
Do not know what to anticipate, you, as it surrounds
Warily taking in every forbidding and unfamiliar detail
As an immense and thunderous silence resounds

What has brought you to this intimidating place
That fills you with an uncomprehendable heartache
For your own bed and a mother's assuring touch
Trying to display deliberate strehgth for a weaker one's sake

I was fortunate enough to visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. this summer. This was a period in our history that affects me a lot. I feel so deeply about this, such a horrifying tragedy that didn't even occur very long ago.
