I let down my guard and hand you my heart risking everything and hoping for the best.
But you just let it slip through your fingers as though I meant nothing to you.
And you may have not known it but I cared for you more than I ever shown. Then again, maybe you saw a glimpse of my eagerness and withdrew everything your eyes had once promised me.
As you turn away, pretending to still care, a tear seeps out of my eye and it’s full of your satisfaction.
I have lost everything.
