He and She
late at night, the house completely silent
the inside of her mind earsplitting
her body and thoughts restless
She wonders where He is
and then hears the door open
late at night, the streets scream raucous
his thoughts remain focused
his mind finding a solution
He ponders and parks the car
and then opens the door
at the top of the stairs, She scratches her head
the trip down a thousand thoughts away
She takes a deep breath
at the bottom of the stairs, He takes off his shoes
the trip up one excuse long
He doesn’t hesitate
they meet at the middle
their eyes connect
one pair filled with worry and tears
one pair gleaming joy and no cares
total chaos ensues
