Where I am From
I am from family meals, fish fries, and frozen dinners with T.V.
I am from Slippin’ Slides, sprinklers, and baseball on the tee.
I am from Mexico, Europe, Hawaii, New York,
I am from temples, cathedrals, and Lu-ous serving pork.
I am from days long gone, just memories in the end,
I am from enemies I've made, believed to be friend.
I am from tree forts in the woods, 30 feet high,
I am from days where all I was known as was shy.
I am from mountains I’ve climbed, from valley to peak,
and from the glamour of sunsets, making me weak.
I am from dreams, aspirations, not once letting go,
I am from wondering how I will end up, and grow.
I am from sorrow and joy, from apathy to zeal,
and from constant upheaval of what I thought to be real.
I am from  burgers and bacon, by myself with T.V.
I am from video games, reading, and sleeping till three.
I am from backyards and garages, hanging out with the guys,
I am from talking about what we’ve found to be lies.
I am from looking to the future, unbeknownst what’s ahead,
I am from hoping I’ll have no regrets when I’m dead.
