Watch It Burn
Let’s watch this city
burn. Glowing red and orange like an autumn
sunset. Sending big, black clouds of smoke into the sky, looming over like a menacing
hand. We feel the destructive force of the fire making the ground
tremble. We feel the beauty, it’s warm, making us mourn
home. We feel the power as we watch from a nearby
hill. We want it to
stop. Yet we wish for it to
continue. We watch the skyline
disappear. We see a new skyline appear, a skyline of
ash. Nothing will stop
it. We can stop
it. We hate it so
much. Yet we love
it. So we watch the city burn.
