Early morning
On an early Sunday morning
everything so bleak and boring
the sun shone lazily on the fields
while a car at the intersection yields
The clouds moved across the deep blue sky
the aroma in the air sweet as pie
As the leaves are swept away
I look onward towards a better day
I just want you to know
that through the blaze and the snow
no matter how bleak the day
we'll find a way
for the next early morning
not to be so boring
The air will be full of life
there will be no grief or strife
the day will spring anew
even if it was halfway through
Even at the earliest it gets
hoping the weather permits
we'll laugh and mess around
where fun and happiness abound
