Friendly Fire
She sits in a friendly fire
The distant are drawn to her light while
Her gentle flames warm people around her
She will do her nimble dance for all to see and
As a beacon of hope she stands for the hopeless
She illuminates the path for all who couldn’t find it
Like a moth to a flame she will draw you in but
Get to close and she will sear you
With a power something so inviting should never possess
The numbing sensation from sitting in her fire has swallowed her for
No one has come close enough to help from fear of being burned
To this day her fire burns on for all to see and use
For all that a fire gives us what have we ever given a fire
She sits in a friendly fire
