50 Cents

January 5, 2009
By Kelsey Wofford, Cleveland, TN

Where worlds collide,
And voices spin,
And words aren’t actually meant,
I have a secret,
Just for you,
It’ll only cost fifty cents.

Isn’t that what it’s all about,
That’s what you have taught me,
50 cents is quite a steal.

You can buy love for any price,
My secret is just the same,
Not always knowing what you’ll get,
That’s half the fun of the game.

I’m a child in this world,
A soul upon this earth,
Here is what you’ve shown me,
And here is what I want.

I want a place where love is earned,
But kindness is a gift,
And anger is unheard of,
And money isn’t worth a cent.
