Dear Thoughts
Dear Fear,
You seem to have a constant hold on me,
but look at me lately.
I have overcome you
and done things I've been afraid to do
for at least a month now.
Your hold on me is still strong,
but your grip is loosening.
--
Dear Envy,
I have no need for you anymore.
I don't envy her,
because I've been in her place,
and it's not as great as I thought.
--
Dear Lust,
I've met you now.
I've loved you now.
I've embraced you now.
I've yet to decide whether it was worth the effort.
--
Dear Joy,
Your visits are so fleeting,
so short, sweet, and to the point,
like my writing,
like my mind,
like my tears,
like everything that follows
when you leave.
--
Dear Love,
I do believe you're here forever,
but forever always has a number on it.
The beauty about forever
is that you have no clue what that number is.
--
Dear Song and Dance,
You are my saviors
from the harsh world that I have been born into.
--
Dear God,
I don't believe in you.
--
Dear Me,
I don't believe in you, either.
